Send a Herogram
Get behind Team Australia by sending them a message of support via a herogram. You can send them to an athlete, official or the team as a whole and there is no limit on how many you can send!
Herograms will be shared with the team daily in the athletes village in Austria! Make sure to get your family and friends on the board to let the team know you are behind them.
Torch Run Final Leg
On Monday Special Olympics Australia athlete Andrew Negrelli (Melbourne Southern, VIC) will depart for Austria to be part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg.
Andrew represented Victoria in Alpine skiing at the National Winter Games in Mt Buller in 2015.
Last month Andrew celebrated his achievement by hosting a BBQ at the Railway Hotel in Melbourne where he raised $5,000 for Special Olympics Australia through the kind support of his local community. Great work Andrew!
Starting 9 March 2017, the Final Leg will see LETR members and Special Olympics athletes travel with the Flame of Hope through cities, towns and communities across Austria before arriving in Schladming for the Opening Ceremony on the 18 March 2017.

We are delighted to share with you the details of ESPN Australia/New Zealand’s ground-breaking coverage of the Special Olympics World Winter Games.
Australian audiences will be able to watch the Opening Ceremony in full on the morning of Sunday 19 March 2017. They will also be able to catch all the action from the slopes with a one hour highlights package at the convenient time of 9am each morning. Coverage will be broadcast on ESPN2, Foxtel channel 509 and streaming service WatchESPN.
In addition ESPN.com will feature comprehensive coverage of the Games, including stories and interviews from Team Australia’s departure and return.

Team Farewell
Team Australia will officially be farewelled at a function on Monday 13 March 2017 at Rydges Sydney Airport.
Special Olympics Australia board, staff and special guests will be on hand to wish the team good luck. ESPN Australia will be there to interview the athletes as they prepare to depart. We will share all the action with you via this newsletter and our social media channels.
