X Games Unified Snowboarding
In the early hours of this morning, Team Australia snowboarder Craig Muhlbock was tearing up the slopes of Aspen, Colorado as part of the the X Games Special Olympics Unified Snowboarding event.
Craig teamed up with his unified partner, two-time Australian Olympic snowboarder Scotty James, to take out bronze.
In it's third year, the Unified Snowboarding event saw eight Special Olympics athletes from around the world team up with X Games competitors. The event was broadcast on ESPN, media partner of the World Winter Games.

Torch Run Final Leg
Our skiers and snowboarders aren't the only ones representing Australia at the Games. Andrew Negrelli from Melbourne Southern will head over to Austria as part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg.
The Flame of Hope will be carried through cities, towns and communities across Austria before arriving at the WM-Stadium Planai in Schladming as part of the Opening Ceremony for the Special Olympics World Winter Games on Saturday 18 March 2017.
Training Camp
We may only be 50 days away from competition, but preparation for Team Australia began many months ago with a training camp at Perisher Valley in NSW.
From 14-19 August 2016 our 12 athletes and 5 volunteer officials took to the snow fields for a week of training and teambuilding. The team trained on FIS international standard Slalom and Super Giant Slalom courses as part of the Disabled Wintersports Australia Race Week.
