Article ImageThis month, we are excited to celebrate Erin Haberman, one of our rockstar volunteers. Erin volunteers her time and talent by providing childcare every week to the babies and toddlers of our young moms. Her calm nature, consistency and superb 'baby whisperer' skills are great assets to our childcare program. We are grateful for the consistency and comfort she brings to the little ones, as well as their moms, each week.

Because of generous supporters like you, we exceeded our year-end fundraising goal! This means even more Des Moines area girls and young women will receive the care and encouragement they deserve, including: 
  • Creative art therapy for girls who have experienced abuse
  • New car seats and training of proper use for young moms
  • Six-week workshops with activities to build positive self-esteem and identify characteristics of healthy relationships

Volunteer
We are currently looking for volunteers to help us sort and organize donated items. If this sounds like something you can help with, please contact Sarah via email or at 515.244.4901.
 
Winter Coats
Though we usually do not accept donations of clothing items for teens and adults, we have found ourselves in need of winter coats for several of our young women. We are currently seeking adult winter coats, sizes S-3X. Coats can be dropped off at the YWRC during normal business hours, Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 pm; Friday, 8 a.m. - Noon.
