June 2016
Thank you FFA supporters for another
great year!

In another extraordinary campaign year, the Wisconsin FFA Foundation is extending an enormous thank you to its many donors who together raised a total of $614,200.20, a new record in the Foundation’s 33-year history.

This number is over 11 percent more than last year and $69,200 (13 percent) higher than the Foundation’s campaign goal. The exciting news was announced at the 87th Wisconsin FFA Convention held June 13-16 in Madison, which also saw record attendance in 2016: 3,860 students, advisors and guests.

“The Wisconsin FFA Foundation knows this landmark celebration is the result of teamwork between industry, individuals and agricultural organizations across the state,” says Sara Schoenborn, Wisconsin FFA Foundation executive director. “This year has been one with challenges and loss, but to see the rally of support around FFA and agricultural education confirms my belief that together, the agriculture family is strong and will always care for each other.”

Other evidence of this strength is the record-breaking membership number the Wisconsin Association of FFA recently has announced: 20,463 members, a 37-year high and nearly 1,000-member growth in the past year.

Dear Friend of the Wisconsin FFA Foundation,

THANK YOU!

There are so many ways to say thank you in the world, and when we announced our record-breaking fundraising campaign year total at the Wisconsin FFA Convention just a couple weeks ago, my heart was full of gratitude in as more ways than I could have imagined. I felt as if there would never be enough languages, types of hugs or handshakes to share with every single donor for making this all possible.

It was a thrill to see the swarms of blue and gold jackets take over the Alliant Energy Center for Convention. I was able to see the space transformed into an event that a record-breaking more than 3,800 people enjoyed for four days. At the end, the tear-down happened so fast and it never ceases to amaze me how the human population can truly embrace and come together in whatever space they have to do so. In a few short months, that same space will be World Dairy Expo and so many events in between. For a week, though, it was ours and it holds the memories of so many students, parents, advisors, sponsors, honored adults and staff.

As the summer continues, we look forward to our annual golf outings in just a couple of weeks and the Madison Mallards game on July 12. Please consider making these fun events part of your summer bucket list. I know I've already crossed a few things off mine: gardening, visiting with friends and family, as well as spending time with my FFA family!

Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts!

Introducing the 2016-17
State Officer Team

As I think of the impact that the supporters and partners of the Wisconsin Association of FFA make on members, one quote clearly comes to mind. Kid President reminds us to “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.”

As Wisconsin FFA members, we stand true to the FFA motto by “Living to Serve” ourselves, our chapters, and our communities. We show those around us that they can make a difference in the lives around them and that they are always appreciated for the work that they do. Partners and supporters have the ability to make the same impact and difference on the lives of students. With your support of the Wisconsin Association of FFA, each of you is preparing students to be successful in their futures.

FFA members are able to attend leadership conferences, receive scholarships, and participate in contests, which develops them to be the leaders of tomorrow. The support that you give to the Wisconsin FFA Foundation and the Wisconsin Association of FFA, ensures students in our local areas are given the opportunities to excel.

Thank you for all that you do and I look forward to working with you over this upcoming year. Together, we can “Be somebody who makes everybody who feels like a somebody.”

Brenna Bays
2016-17 Wisconsin FFA President
