Happy Easter
April  2025

Dear Hillian,

As we head into the Easter break, it marks the end of my first term on the Hill. In the short time I’ve worked at Kingham I’ve had the privilege of connecting with nearly 200 Hillians across three continents — whether in person, online, or by phone. Several visits to London have also given me the opportunity to deepen our South East connections, and I’m grateful for the warm welcome I’ve received.

It has also been a pleasure to welcome a number of alumni who have visited the School this term, from across the UK and around the world — including Hillians visiting from the US, Australia, and Africa.

Throughout the term, I’ve been hugely grateful for the support of the members of the Hillians Committee. A particular thank you to my fellow Officers — Mark Foley (Vice Chair), John Mann (Secretary), and Brian Dean (Vice President) — who have been incredibly generous with their time and advice. Our many online meetings have kept everything moving forward, often behind the scenes.

Last month, we launched our Alumni Ambassador Programme, and conversations have begun with 20 Hillians interested in starting alumni groups by year, geography, and shared interests. Momentum is building, and it's an exciting time. If you would like to get involved with the Programme and have not yet been in touch, please do contact me.

Thank you to everyone who has completed our Alumni Survey — we’ve had over 100 responses so far. If you haven’t yet had the chance, please consider completing the questionnaire before it closes on 30th April. We’ll share the results with you in May.

I also want to take a moment to acknowledge the private Kingham Hill School Alumni Facebook group. Whilst this is not a School-run forum, and I’m not personally a member, I understand it is a place of lively discussion. If you ever have questions, concerns, or thoughts that you would like to share with the School, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me directly — my door (and inbox) is always open and I’m keen to have conversations!

After Easter, I’ll be announcing several new alumni initiatives. I’m eager to meet more Hillians and continue building meaningful connections. Whether at events or through virtual conversations, I look forward to hearing your ideas and working together to further strengthen our community.

In the meantime, I wish you a joyful and restful Easter.

Kind regards,

Andrew Mitchell

P.S. The first editions of our newly introduced alumni newsletters from this term are now available to view on the alumni section of the School website — I hope you enjoy catching up if you haven’t had a chance to read them yet.
