Prize Patrol and Gala Luncheon Celebrate BBM Winners
One of our annual favorites, the Bessie B. Moore awards program, got off to a different start this year: We announced the winners with our first ever Prize Patrol to 8 Arkansas schools. As we presented enormous $1,000 checks, the recipients laughed and cried while their students whooped and cheered and principals and superintendents applauded. Even some local media attended.
Winners were officially recognized during our gala luncheon Nov. 7, 2018, in Little Rock.

A video of the patrols, event photos, and names of winners and sponsors are on our website. Thank you to everybody who made the 2018 program such a success.
Expanding Our Reach and Name Recognition
Thanks to new partnership opportunities and publicity efforts, we are growing our impact and brand awareness. To wit:
  • With support from Stephens Inc, we launched an umbrella PreK-12 educational program focused on free-enterprise education for schools and students across the state. Stephens’ multimedia educational series, “This is Capitalism,” which explores the free-enterprise system, serves as the key component.
  • Thanks to a just-approved grant from the Blue & You Foundation, we will partner with the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance (AHRA) to teach a condensed version of the AHRA's successful "Cooking Matters" courses coupled with an additional emphasis on personal finance to PreK-12 teachers.
  • We are a + partner of the recently established Bank On Arkansas+ coalition, a multi-agency collaboration to facilitate access to safe and affordable bank services for all Arkansans.
  • Our legendary first executive director Bessie B. Moore was inducted into the 2018 Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame
This is only a partial list. We love face-to-face visits to bring you up to date on everything. Please call or email us to fix a date at 501-682-4230 or Thank you.
