Have Cookies, Will Travel
Article ImageHappy New Year to all. Thanks to your ongoing support, advocacy and good wishes, 2018 was off to a good start.
Executive Director Kathleen Lawson is continuing her whirlwind  tour of the state to meet the extended EA family. She brings cookies! If she hasn't visited with you yet, it's just a matter of time  (and good travel weather).
To speed things up, feel free to contact her at 501-682-4349 or to set up an appointment.

Awards luncheon for the Fall 2017 SMG Winners
More than 110 student winners of the Fall 2017
Stock Market Game session were honored during
an awards luncheon at Verizon Arena on Jan. 10.
KARK News 4 reported on the luncheon during
its 6 o'clock news.
Feedback from the students showed that participation alone has its rewards. "We gained the confidence that will help us in the future when we invest in real money,” said Lauren Nagel, a high school student at Ozark High School, Franklin County. She and her team mate, Anna Grace Gibbons, won first place in the High School Division in Northwest Arkansas. She continued: “I have learned that overall, investing in the stock market is not as difficult as it may seem and it really can pay off in the end.”
More than 1,600 teams participated in the Fall 2017 session. The new year-round session is continuing, and the Spring 2018 session just started. We are grateful to our major financial sponsors for supporting this program: Arkansas Securities Department; Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Central Arkansas Planning & Development Commission; D&R Hobbs LLC; Donors Choose; Lou Graham, Morgan Stanley; the Riceland Foundation and Stephens Inc. Thank you.

What's happening in 2018?
Planning for our 2018 trainings and programs is in full swing. Favorites such as Connecting Educators to Industry, the annual REAL Conference and E3: Empowering Entrepreneurship Education will return, and we're adding some new programs: Act 480 compliance training, Economics Concepts Connector Cards and a PreK-12 strand on entrepreneurship. It will be an exciting year. Thanks for being part of it.
Your support is making our work possible and we are truly grateful.
