TEACHING FREE ENTERPRISE
IN ARKANSAS
 
WHEN:     Friday, November 9, 2018

WHERE:  Springdale Schools, Perry Professional                         Development Center
                 1457 E Robinson Avenue, Springdale       
 
This one-day training is tailored to 9th – 12th grade economics teachers throughout the state. Teachers hear lectures on a variety of economic topics, participate in Q&A sessions with experts in the field, and take home a wealth of materials for the classroom.
 
Upon successful completion of this training, teachers will receive:
  • 5.5 hours of professional development credits
  • A $75 substitute reimbursement
  • Classroom lesson plans and activity kits
  • A $25 gift-card for classroom supplies
Travel stipends are also available for those traveling from outside Northwest Arkansas.

TAX WORKSHOP
UA LITTLE ROCK
 
 
UA Little Rock will host a workshop on Monday, November 12th  from 4:45-5:45 pm to discuss income tax changes and tips for the upcoming tax season.

2018 SMALL BUSINESS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
 
Are you registered for the 2018 Arkansas State University's Small Business Leadership Conference? The event will occur November 13th during Global Entrepreneurship Week.
 
There is a 4 part competition including: best written business plan, best commercial for television, best poster and best elevator pitch.
 
Student teams of 4 students will compete for prize money! Workshops are also available for students not wishing to compete but learn more about entrepreneurship.
 
The registration cost is $10 per student. Contact Dr. Philip Tew, Center Director of Economic and Financial Literacy at Arkansas State. His email is ptew@astate.edu. 
       
STOCK MARKET GAME FUNDING
 
If you are interested in participating in the spring 2019 Stock Market Game, there are two great funding opportunities available to participate FREE.
