WELCOME TO THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR!
 
It's another exciting year! We know that you have invested a lot of time and energy preparing your classrooms and developing activities to engage your students. Your students are certainly fortunate to have you as their teacher.

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!
 
Do you have a creative approach to teaching economics, personal finance or entrepreneurship? Would funding help make that creative idea a reality?
 
Consider applying for a grant through our teacher grant program.
 
There are two cycles for this school year:
Fall: Due September 10, Awarded September 26
Spring: Due January 14, Awarded January 30
 
The maximum request is $500. You may submit your online application individually or with a partner teacher.

STOCK MARKET GAME 2018-2019
 
This year marks the 20th year Economics Arkansas has held the franchise for the Stock Market Game. Look for exciting details to follow as we celebrate!
 
ONE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Instead of having a fall and spring luncheon, we are planning an AMAZING luncheon in spring 2019 where we will celebrate fall, spring and yearlong winners!

STOCK MARKET GAME FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
 
If you are looking for a simulation which provides real world connections, promotes higher level thinking opportunities and encourages collaboration, then the Stock Market Game is for you!
 
We would love for you to participate, and we have 3 great funding sources for you to take advantage of this school year!
 
DonorsChoose: Public school educators are eligible for this funding. If you have a free account, it's easy to post. Learn more here.
 
Arkansas Securities Department: This grant will provide technology, team fees and more. It's an online application for 5th-12th grade public school educators. Discover more at this link
 
Donna K. Wright Scholarship: This scholarship provides team fees. Public and private schools may apply. The application is online here.

TEACHING THE GREAT RECESSION
 
Are you familiar with MRU (Marginal Revolution University) and their great resources?
 
This free, half day workshop is tailored to 9th-12th grade economics, business, government and social studies teachers.
 
Teachers will receive:
3 hours of PD
$25 stipend
$25 Office Depot gift card
Classroom materials
 
*Travel stipend are available for those traveling outside central Arkansas.

Back by popular demand, we will be hosting Dinner and Dollar events around the state this year. This is an opportunity for you to learn about topics related to financial literacy.
