Yeimi Flores is an active participant in the YWRC’s Young Moms program and it was with great pride that we presented Yeimi the Woman of Worth (WOW) award at our annual Sit On It! event on April 22, 2017. Her ongoing thirst for knowledge, positive attitude and commitment to a bright future for both Esmerelda and herself are inspiring. Congratulations, Yeimi!

Celebrate a loved one this Mother's Day by making a donation in their honor AND supporting critical programming for our Young Moms. 
 
Many pregnant and parenting teens struggle to overcome trauma they experienced at home as children. One of the YWRC’s goals is to make sure they break negative generational cycles and provide a stable, loving home for their child. With your help, we can continue to provide a place every girl can go to feel safe, special and supported.
 
Here's how:
1. Go to our donation page and complete your contact and payment information.
2. Include in the "comment" box the name of the person you are honoring and an address we may use to send them a card acknowledging the gift in their honor.

5th Annual Fun in the Sun
Sunday, June 25, 2017  |  2 - 4 p.m.
Jasper Winery  |  2400 George Flagg Pkwy
 
Join the Young Empowerment Partnership for this fun, all-ages kick off to summer! The afternoon will include lawn games, live music, appetizers, beverages, cash bar featuring Jasper Winery's famous sangria and raffle prizes each worth $100 or more. Attire is summer casual.  

Proceeds will benefit the YWRC's summer programming for girls going into 6th grade through high school throughout Greater Des Moines.

Interested in donating a meal for our Summer Program?
 
We are currently looking for lunch donations for 20 girls during the weeks of June 12, June 26, July 17 and July 24. Lunches include a main dish (sandwiches, walking tacos, pizza), a fruit or veggie side and an optional dessert.
