Dear Friends of Catholic Charities,
For over 80 years, Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson has been providing help and creating hope for those most in need.
We recognize and honor the many staff, leaders, friends and service recipients who have come before.
There may be no one more memorable than Walter. 47 years ago today, Walter, who lived at the Department for Persons with Disabilities and who happened to have an intellectual disability, saved the life of an abandoned newborn infant.Full Story: www.ccpaterson.org/walterWalter's Story epitomizes the important work of Catholic Charities.Walter’s Story teaches us that every life is to be cherished and that we are all valuable in the eyes of God.Walter’s Story inspires us to help those in need.Thank you, Walter for brightening our world and happy birthday to "Walter's Baby!"
The unforgettable Walter Barton.
Thank you to Bishop Sweeney, Bishop Emeritus Serratelli and to the faithful of the Diocese of Paterson for their continued support.
Last week, Bishop Sweeney presented Catholic Charities, Straight and Narrow with a check for over $319,000!
Nearly a year ago, Straight and Narrow experienced a devastating fire at our 410 facility. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and we were able to continue with our important ministry to help those in recovery.
This contribution, made possible through donations to the Bishops Annual Appeal, will assist us with our rebuilding efforts of this vital program. We are truly blessed and thankful!
Thank you to the Beacon, the newspaper for the Diocese of Paterson for covering this event: www.rcdop.org/news/bishops-annual-appeal-6

Thank you for your continued kindness. We are helping more people than anytime in our 80 year history, giving out nearly 1,000,000 lbs of food since the start of the pandemic. Doyle is one of the seniors we help at our Paterson Adult Day Center. In the video linked below, Doyle shows his appreciation to Catholic Charities staff, volunteers and those who support us. To keep vulnerable seniors safe, our Paterson Adult Day Center has been closed for the last several months. We have stayed in regular touch with all of the seniors who we help with daily phone calls and wellness checks.
With the assistance of our food pantries, we have also delivered groceries, directly to senior citizen's homes. We are blessed to do what we do.
Your continued support is needed. Please visit www.ccpaterson.org/relief to donate, so we can continue on with our expanded ministry.
God bless Doyle and God bless you all!
Doyle is appreciative of your continued support!
