The 2018 Stephanie J. Kalin Distinguished Service Award, for outstanding contributions to the Needham Community Council, was awarded to Volante Farms for their donations of food items to the Council Food Pantry and for their generous dedication of proceeds from their 100th anniversary clothing sales to the Council last year. Volante Farms, co-owner, Teri Volante Boardman represented her family and accepted the award from Council Executive Director, Sandra Robinson.

Margie Margolis took over the reins as incoming Council Board President and Robert Dermody took over the role of Vice President. We said thanks, but not farewell, to Board members, Jeffrey Stewart-Morales and Carole Sullivan, who stepped down. We look forward to working with all of our Board members throughout the year!

Thanks to all the Needham Scouts, and their families, who participated in the Annual Scouting for Food Event held on Sunday, March 25th. They sorted and delivered A LOT of food items to the Council's Food Pantry... more than twice what they collected last year's event!

A special thanks to all the Needham residents who left donations on their doorsteps, to the Norfolk Lodge who provided the space to sort and collect food, and to all the Council volunteers and staff for their hard work that day.
