Congratulations Hunter-Stone Family!
The House is ready to become a Home!
We are excited to be holding a dedication celebration with the Hunter-Stone family this coming Monday, August 5th at 5:30 p.m.  The home, which was donated back to Habitat by the previous Habitat partner family, has been refreshed and updated by Ethan and Brittany and their family and friends with a great deal of help from our beloved "Quad City Regulars."  This young family has worked hard to bring this affordable home opportunity to reality for their family!  They will be moving from what Brittany called, in a big understatement, "a not ideal" living situation, and old and poorly insulated trailer to a safe and energy efficient home.
We encourage you to join us this coming Monday at their home at 32 Vermilion in the Midway area of Virginia.  As with all of our other Habitat partner families, Ethan and Brittany will purchase the home with an affordable mortgage and their property will continue to support the community infrastrucure as they pay taxes.  Additionally, as with all Habitat homes, the house is extremely energy-efficient, which will add to the affordabilty for this young family.
Since this dedication will be held at 5:30 p.m., we hope many of our supporters will be able to come and join us in this joyful celebration.  Dedication ceremonies are "the cherry on the top of the sundae" that is Habitat!  Feel the joy and celebrate this new chapter in this wonderful family's life!
Thank you for another GREAT Habitat 500 and a WONDERFUL Iron Range welcome for the riders!

The happy riders in front of Mesabi East High School
Thank you so much to all the individuals, churches, schools and businesses that made this year's Habitat 500 bike ride such a great success!  We really showed our guests a great Iron Range welcome.  Habitat staff was delighted to hear all of the compliments on the accomodations, the meals, the friendliness of our commumnities and the overall beauty of our area.  This annual ride, organized by our state support organization, Habitat Minnesota, is a wonderful fundraiser and marketing event and we know the riders, from all over the state and even the country, will go home with great memories.  Though we don't have the final totals for fundraising yet, so far, we are way ahead of previous years and know that this event will make a big difference in helping us help our neighbors in need of affordable homes.  Thank you for your support!

Two new homes underway in West Eveleth!
If you are among the many folks who have driven by our two new homes, located at 1406 and 1410 West First St. in Eveleth, you know great progress is being made!  We still have a LOT to accomplish, so come on down and help build!  Our great construction manager, Brandon, will provide all the tools and teach you any skills you may need.  Not feeling like building?  We are also looking for people willing to feed our build volunteers.  Either way, please reply to this email or call Susan at 218-750-2611 and tell us how you can help the Strand and Stark families build their new homes!
