Dear Friend of Habitat,
As you are aware, a wave of closures, cancellations and postponements has unfurled as the COVID-19 pandemic has quickly evolved. I know I speak for all of us at Habitat when I say our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted. Beyond all else, our highest priority is the health and safety of our entire North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity community— staff, partner families, volunteers, supporters and all our neighbors across the Iron Range.
We want to update you on our plans for the next few weeks as we take the advice and direction from Habitat for Humanity International, Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota and our local, state and Federal government. We are all trying to do our part to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Therefore, starting tomorrow, March 18th, North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity will be closed for business through March 29, at the earliest. We will use this time to prepare for future phases beyond March 29. Additional steps will be evaluated and communicated.
The following actions are being taken:
- Our office and warehouse will be closed through March 29 at the earliest.
- All volunteer activities will be cancelled through at least April 12.
- During this time, staff will be available by email or phone call should you have any questions.
We are working together with you through these difficult and unprecedented times and will need your continued support as we move forward.
A sense of connectedness and a willingness to actively help shape the world around us for the better has always been a hallmark of Habitat. You have helped sustain our work with 100 families through 25 years of ministry, and we will weather this unprecedented challenge together.
As much as we wish there might be a playbook for the situation we all find ourselves in, it has not been written yet. What has been written is the command to love our neighbors and to act with kindness wherever we can. We thank you for the close and loving community that you continue to help us build, and we appreciate your unwavering support.
