New Report Uses Kathy Park's Expertise on Data Science
Park also consulted on a new report that provides practical guidance on mitigating the risks of applying data science techniques to human service agencies. Published by the MetroLab Network, the report offers specific recommendations and suggestions about how to approach foundational issues like data stewardship and crisis communications. MetroLab Network is a partnership of 41 cities and 55 universities working to solve problems in urban areas through technology and analytics. Park will participate in the 2017 MetroLab Summit in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 13 and 14, 2017.

NCCD Partners in Supportive Housing ProgramNCCD Partners in Supportive Housing Program
NCCD is a key partner in a new health-based housing program that aims to reduce recidivism and help end homelessness among those who cycle in and out of the Los Angeles County jail system. Just in Reach will offer permanent supportive housing to 300 homeless individuals who are currently in county jail and have a mental health or substance-use disorder. Just in Reach is Los Angeles County’s first program to use the “Pay for Success” funding structure, in which the private sector provides up-front financing that is repaid by government only if agreed-upon successes are achieved.
