Philip Decter Serving as Interim Director of Child Welfare
NCCD is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Decter
, MSW, as interim director of child welfare. Mr. Decter has been with NCCD since 2010, most recently serving as an associate director. As interim director, Mr. Decter will provide strategic direction and leadership for NCCD staff focused on system improvement in child welfare.
Since joining NCCD, Mr. Decter has worked on implementation of the Structured Decision Making®
system integrated with strengths-based and solution-focused approaches. He has partnered with jurisdictions in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Florida, Delaware, and Massachusetts as well as Australia, Taiwan, and Canada.
Before joining NCCD, Mr. Decter worked with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families and other Massachusetts child-serving nonprofits as a consultant, trainer, and coach. He has an MSW from Simmons College School of Social Work and has studied, trained, and taught extensively on strengths-based, solution-focused, and narrative approaches to clinical work.
