Dear Friends of The Antioch Partners (TAP),
The Season of Advent is one of my favorite times of the year … focusing again on the wonder of the incarnation, the amazing stories related to the birth of Jesus, special times of worship, well-loved hymns, and much more.
In terms of hymns, one of my favorites is “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing,” and one of my favorite lines is, “Joyful, all ye nations rise – join the triumph of the skies; With the angelic host proclaim, ‘Christ is born in Bethlehem!’” That line always points me to the promise of Revelation 7:9 and the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan when there will be “… a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.” Together with Christians around the world, I long for that day, and it never ceases to amaze me that God gives each of us the privilege of playing a part in the fulfillment of his global redemptive plan.
As I reflect on this past year, I praise God for what he has done, and continues to do through TAP Partners serving around the world. I also praise God for all of you, both local churches and individuals, who are serving as senders for these TAP Partners … through prayer, financial support and encouragement. I praise God for your commitment to seeing all the nations (peoples) joining with the angelic host proclaiming “Christ is born in Bethlehem!”
Partner Focus: Marta Bennett
One of the TAP Partners being used by God in strategic ways in the arena of capacity-building is Marta Bennett. After 20+ years teaching in Christian universities in Kenya, Marta was invited by a dynamic local church called the Nairobi Chapel to join the leadership team at the church. Her focus is teaching, training and mentoring emerging young Christian leaders who are dreaming and preparing for team ministries to plant churches all around Kenya and East Africa, as well as across Africa and gateway cities of the world. Besides teaching, mentoring, and guiding practical ministry experiences in a year-long residential program, she is also part of a 12-member team of pastors and lay leaders who provide pastoral care, counsel, and leadership development for church leaders and their teams who are serving in fledgling church plants in Nairobi and beyond. If you’d like to know more about Marta and her family, or are interested in prayerfully considering joining her support team (Marta does need additional support), click here
As you make year-end giving decisions, I encourage you to include a year-end contribution to TAP. Your giving will enable us to continue supporting the existing TAP Partners (missionaries) who are serving around the world, as well as those who will join TAP in the coming year.
If God leads you to give, you can contribute by check or online. Checks should be made payable to The Antioch Partners and mailed to (note “Operating Fund” in memo line of check):
