Annual Fall Fundraiser

It's hard to believe but we are closing in on your last chance to make 2019 charitable gifts. Please remember us as you plan your end of the year donations. Thank you to everyone who has already sent in contributions - we appreciate your support!

The
Fall Fundraiser campaign provides approximately 1/3 of our annual budget. We rely solely on the generous contributions of the community to support our programs, as we do not receive any tax dollars. Thanks to you and your neighbors we have raised more than 26% of our goal but we still need your help!

Donations from you and your neighbors ensure that Council programs stay strong and vital and continue to provide help to the entire Needham community, but we can't do it without you!

Click here to visit our easy-to-use and secure online donation page or use the remittance envlelope (sent to all Needham households in November with a Council information card) to send your donation.

Many companies provide matching funds for employee charitable donations. We are a 501 (C)3 organization and can help you increase your support through matching funds!

Giving Tuesday

For 24 hours on December 3rd an ordinary Tuesday turns into something more! GivingTuesday has become a global movement that connects individuals, communities, and organizations around the world to celebrate and encourage giving.

Holiday Gift Giving Programs

Holiday Gifts

To help ensure that all Needham families can enjoy and share gifts during the holiday season, our Food Pantry families are invited to participate in this annual giving program.

North Hill residents send their "Santa" to deliver toys for kids ages 12 and under; The Needham Exchange Club brings over bags and bags of art supplies, toys, games, etc.; many Needham residents donate gift cards (or funds to buy gift cards) to CVS or Walgreens and to Marshall's or TJMaxx for teens; and warm gloves, hats, scarves, sweaters, bathrobes, etc. are gifted to adults...we especially need large and x-large sizes.

Do you want to help? Donated items are needed by Monday, December 9th

Senior Holiday Bags

Each year, Council volunteers create and deliver hundreds of holiday gift bags to Needham residents who are in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or in their own homes. Recipients of the bags love and appreciate the acknowledgment and remembrance of the holiday season!

Bags are decorated by children throughout the community - school groups, houses of worship, scouts, families, birthday party guests, etc. and filled with donated items

Holiday Boutique

The Council's annual Holiday Boutique is one of the highlights [and bargains] of the season. Several large rooms overflow with treasures of all kinds. You will find unique decorative items, vintage, jewelry, gifts, clothing, candles, nutcrackers, cards, stockings, Christmas, Channukah & New Years' items, wrapping paper, and more!

Thursday, December 5th, 12 pm - 7 pm
Friday, December 6th, 10 am - 2 pm
Saturday, December 7th, 10 am- 2 pm

All proceeds of thrift shop sales benefit the free programs of the Council and stay in Needham to support our neighbors.

First come, first served; cash & checks only, no credit cards; all sales final.

Christmas Day Dinner Delivery

For the past three decades, Temple Beth Shalom and the Needham Community Council have joined together to deliver Christmas Day Dinners to Needham residents. Last year, over 100 Needham households received Christmas Day Dinner deliveries, and this year will be no different. We are grateful to Lois Sockol and Temple congregants for their efforts to provide delicious holiday meals to Needham residents.

If you, or someone you know, would like to have a dinner delivered on Christmas, please call us at 781-444-2415 by noon on Friday, December 20th.

Clothing Donations In Time For The Holidays

The Council recently received two major clothing donations, which will help us support income-eligible women “dress for success” this holiday season and beyond.

W by Worth’s Every Woman has Worth charitable giving program sent us a fabulous selection of jackets and other clothing items. Worth is a New York clothing collection that sells online and through trunk shows. These items will be perfect for our clients who are entering, re-entering or currently in the workforce.

Habitat Clothing, owned by a Needham resident, recently made a significant donation of winter sweaters. These will not only help our clients stay warm but will also provide them with style and comfort.

All of these clothes will be distributed by the Council through our Karma of Clothing Project and Holiday Gift Giving Program.

Thanks for all the generous donations during this holiday season and throughout the year. The Council Thrift Shop is filled with amazing clothing and great bargains. All sales support the no-fee programs of the Council and stay in Needham to support our neighbors. Clothing and other donated items are also given to residents whenever the need arises.
