This month, we are happy to celebrate one of our newest staff members, Christine Tucker. Christine joined our team in April of 2021 as part of our Young Moms Program.
 
"My education and career path have always been shaped by wanting to help others have a safe space to learn and grow, and in the last few years I have been particularly interested in helping young children and their parents specifically."

Girls and young women ages 10 - 24 are invited to join us for our annual Back to School Bash on Thursday, August 19, 6 - 7:30 p.m.! We'll celebrate the end of summer and beginning of a new school year with games, activities, food, and school supplies.
 
Participants attending should register and include the number of guests attending with them - caregivers and family members welcome. This event is FREE and masks are required for those not vaccinated.

Save the date for the 12th Annual Celebrity Servers Night event to be held on Monday, October 4, 2021.
 
Guests will enjoy a three course meal while being hosted by local celebrities for a memorable evening of fantastic food and the best company in town! Funds raised through Celebrity Servers Night will support our mission to empower participants to be strong, self-confident and resilient. Stay tuned for more info about restaurants and Servers!

School Supplies!

Help participants kick off the 2021/2022 school year by donating new and unused school supplies. Needed supplies include pens, pencils, makers, crayons, colored pencils, binders, folders, erasers, glue, and notebooks. 
 
Items can be dropped off at the YWRC on Fridays, 8:30 a.m. - noon, or shipped directly to us (818 5th Ave. Des Moines, 50309).
