Volunteers play a critical role in the success of our organization. This month, we are excited to feature one of our most steadfast, dedicated and genuinely kind volunteers, Frank Vaia.
 
Frank has been volunteering with the YWRC through our Celebrity Servers Night event for the last seven years. Without fail, Frank is always willing to go the extra mile, and then some.

High schoolers are invited to join our Lotus Art Therapy group! This program will be on Thursdays, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. Lotus group is FREE and includes transportation, snacks and art materials. The group meets in person at the YWRC, following strict social distancing guidelines for participant and facilitator safety. 
 
Participants will explore emotional regulation, make connections, learn coping skills and draft a safety plan for self-care.

Save the Date: SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 2021
 
You're invited to join us for our 22nd annual YWRC Gala: Masquerade! We will be using a hybrid model for this event, providing guests with three ticket type options for celebration: In-Person, House Party or Virtual Only. Proceeds raised will support critical programming provided to local girls and young women throughout Greater Des Moines.

Childcare Volunteers
 
With hope for holding groups in person in the future, we are starting to regroup a team of Childcare volunteers. These volunteers provide our Young Mom’s children with a safe space to play while their parent learns critical skills, financial literacy, what to expect during/after pregnancy and more. Ideal volunteers are friendly, responsible, and have experience working with infants/children.
