Volunteers are a key component of the YWRC’s success. We are excited to take a moment to celebrate their positive impact as we reflect on the past fiscal year. 
 
Last year, 338 volunteers spent 2750+ hours driving our mission forward by volunteering to donate meals, care for children, bundle diapers, and everything in between.

Local celebrities from the Greater Des Moines community team provide guests an incredible evening and delicious three-course dinner for just $45. What makes this event extra memorable are the themes and costumes Celebrity Servers use to enhance their guests’ experience.

Earlier this month, our Young Moms participated in an activity with Healthy Birth Day and Count the Kicks. We discussed the importance of counting a baby’s kicks in the third trimester and created heart decor, provided by The Knotty Nail. The individual hearts form a collaborative art piece when placed together.  
 
The collaborative artwork will be on display at the Crying Out Loud event at Mainframe Studios on October 18th - an event planned to shine light on the racial disparities that exist in stillbirth.

Donate essential personal care items. 

Help us to be able to provide our participants with the essentials they need to be successful. Now that school is back in session, our need for personal care items has grown.
 
Our most needed items include body wash, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant and coconut oil. Our participants would especially appreciate hair care items suited to kinky/coiled/textured hair.
