Sammons Financial Group has supported the girls and young women of the YWRC through sponsorship of our Sit On It! event for the past three years and we are proud to have them as the 2017 Presenting Sponsor.
 
To gain insight to what motivates Sammons to be such a strong supporter of local young women, we interviewed Rhonda Elming, Vice President of Product Development for Sammons and YWRC Board member since 2014. Like the YWRC, Sammons is committed to making lives better and giving back to the communities in which we live.

Sit On It! is an evening of fun and fundraising in support of girls and young women of the Greater Des Moines community.
 
While ticket sales have ended, those not in attendance can still support the event by participating in the silent auction online! In just a few short days, all auction items will be up for view on our BidPal site under the 'Shop Items' section. Early online bidding for silent auction items begins Thursday, April 20th!

Registration is now open!
 
During summer programs, girls spend time with peers in a supportive environment, have fun and learn more about what it means to be a healthy young woman. These programs are created for girls going into 6th grade through high school in or around the Des Moines area. All Summer Programs are free and include field trips, hands on activities, and speakers. Lunch and transportation are provided.

  • Administrative support or data entry
  • Provide a meal for a group
  • Organize baby care items (diapers, formula, etc.)
  • Re-stock items in the Girls' Store
