Chapter Grants Now Available
The Wisconsin FFA Foundation has opened the application period for the 2019 Chapter Grants. Five opportunities are available to FFA chapters around the state due to generous funding from Foundation sponsors.
The Foundation’s 2019 Chapter Grant Program is available in these categories: AgCountry Chapter Grant, Bethany L. Rieth Memorial Community Service, Burton H. Morris Chapter Grant, Food for America, and WAXX/Wisconsin Farm Report Network with Pam Jahnke Convention Grant.
To be eligible for a 2019 Wisconsin FFA Foundation Chapter Grant, FFA chapters must be in good standing with the Wisconsin Association of FFA and submit a completed application to the Wisconsin FFA Foundation by March 22, 2019. 
The application can be found on the Wisconsin FFA Foundation website under “Chapter Grants” (www.wisconsinffafoundation.org).

GrowMore Communities - Syngenta continues to partner with FFA 
In 2018, Wisconsin FFA members grew 9,141 pounds of produce and donated 8,408 pounds as part of the GrowMore Communities grant program. 
Syngenta's unique partnership with the Wisconsin FFA Foundation began in 2016, and supports eight Wisconsin FFA Chapter gardens: Antigo, Columbus, Ellsworth, Holmen, Oshkosh North, Randolph Cambria-Friesland, Shullsburg and Waupun. 
Congratulations to everyone on another great year of successful gardening and community service. Thank you to Syngenta for continuing to invest in agriculture's future in Wisconsin! 
              Columbus FFA members grew pumpkins
              to raise funds for the local hospital.

On behalf of Wisconsin FFA, Happy 2019! We hope your year is off to a great start, whether you’ve been fortunate to avoid the polar vortex – or getting plenty of shoveling practice!
Either way, it’s hard to believe we’re already in the second half of the 2018-19 academic year for Wisconsin Ag Ed and FFA. Since our last update, we’ve awarded thousands in SAE Grants, held Half-Time conference for hundreds of FFA members, and joined our FFA Advisors in planning for a successful spring – when it gets even busier.
As we keep our focus on preparing our young members for their future careers supporting agriculture, we also realize the challenges our ag industry continues to face each day. Despite these challenges, it has been incredible to see the continued investment in our mission from so many businesses, individuals, and organizations.
Our members learn from the example of resilience and commitment of our benefactors like yourself, and we truly would not be successful without you.

Bio-Vet, Inc. Partners with Foundation
Bio-Vet, Inc., has partnered with the Wisconsin FFA Foundation with a $5,000 gift. The Barneveld-based company is a new benefactor of the non-profit organization, which supports the Wisconsin Association of FFA and other agricultural education partners statewide.
Bio-Vet, Inc. is supporting Wisconsin FFA members as a Leadership Partner, sponsor of the Dairy Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) grants and also a sponsor of the Beef Production Proficiency award. Wisconsin FFA continues to grow and thrive, with more than 21,000 members wearing the iconic blue and gold corduroy jacket in the state.

Scholarship Applications Due March 15
The Wisconsin FFA Foundation is now accepting applications from eligible Wisconsin Association of FFA members for its 2018-19 Post-Secondary Scholarships.
The application is available on the Wisconsin FFA Foundation’s website home page (wisconsinffafoundation.org), or on the Wisconsin FFA’s website under the “Programs” tab (wisconsinffa.org). All applications are to be postmarked by March 15, 2019, to the Wisconsin FFA Foundation office.

Amber Vickers Keller 
I was the FFA member who almost wasn’t a member. Years ago as I looked to the future and began choosing high school classes to prepare me for college and beyond, I didn’t initially sign up for an agricultural education class. Through the gentle prodding from family members and our school ag teacher, Dick Meske, I changed my mind and enrolled in that very first ag class on the first day of high school.  THAT was a defining moment in my life - one that I still remember
and has defined my life since that time in so many ways. 
Not only has my life been shaped by those formative years spent exploring, learning and serving in FFA, I have witnessed how it has shaped the lives of others - professionally, personally, and as demonstrated by their leadership examples in our communities.  Over the years I have bumped into many former FFA members who have gone on to be successful in agribusiness, science and research, healthcare, culinary arts, education, and law. FFA prepares leaders for the agricultural industry, but it also prepares leaders for EVERY industry, vocation, and role they may have in their life’s journey.
In my professional role as an agricultural banker, I encourage farm clients to periodically examine their farm business succession plan- strategizing on how the business will evolve, grow, and prosper.  A good succession plan requires regular contributions of time, talent, and capital by the individuals involved to see it through to fruition. 
Similarly, investing in Wisconsin FFA ensures that this organization’s succession plan stays on track. Your contributions of time, talent, and financial support will ensure that Wisconsin FFA continues to be the catalyst for many defining moments in the lives of future leaders for years to come. Please join me in this cause.
