  • GDOT will share feedback received from and provide updates to the March 13 Open House on the new Northside Drive bridge.
  • The PATH Foundation will present the trail underpass concept (picture above) to connect the east and west sides of Northside Drive via a trail under the new bridge.
  • DWM will update the community on the $37M+ sewer infrastructure improvements happening in Atlanta Memorial Park.

AFTER - ivy removed from trees, invasive privet removed, making space for native plants
 
 
Join us as we continue our monthly forest restoration projects in Atlanta Memorial Park. This Sunday, May 6, AMPC, Trees Atlanta, North Atlanta High School students and other volunteers will meet in the parking lot of the platform tennis courts at the Bitsy Grant Tennis Center to remove ivy from trees and the privet from the forest. Bring your closed-toe shoes and gloves for the work day. Trees Atlanta will provide tools. Email info@atlmemorialpark.org to let us know that you can join us!

With special thanks to...
  • Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, Coca-Cola Company, Home Depot, and Ruby-Collins - for removing trash and debris from Peachtree Creek. 
  • Garden Club of Georgia, Brookwood Tree Consulting, Arbormedics, and an anonymous donor - for improving the health of the trees in Memorial Park with a pruning project from east of the playground to Northside Drive.
  • Park Pride, Playground Creations, and an anonymous donor - for the new piece of equipment at the Memorial Park playground.  Stop by - the new spinner is a huge hit!
  • Trees Atlanta, green t-shirt volunteer, Aaron Bose, and volunteers - for the monthly volunteer days in the park to restore the forest by removing invasive species.
  • Council Member JP Matzigkeit - for reading in legislation for the City of Atlanta and the Haynes Manor Recital Hall Foundation to enter into an agreement to restore the existing Bobby Jones Clubhouse, turning it into a small chamber music hall with educational facilities and community space on the lower level. Full city council will vote on the legislation on Monday, May 7, 2018.
  • Haynes Manor Recital Hall Foundation - for all of their hard work with AMPC and the Peachtree Battle Alliance to save the Bobby Jones Clubhouse and turn it into an amazing venue for the citizens of Atlanta.
  • PATH Foundation and Astra Group - for the work on the PATH extension around the Bobby Jones golf course.
