Memorial Park Tree Pruning Project coming in March!
Thanks to a matching grant award from the Garden Club of Georgia, AMPC is kicking off phase I of its tree restoration efforts in the park the first week of March, weather permitting. The trees located between the playground and Northside Drive off Wesley Drive will receive much needed tree care from Arbormedics with oversight by Chris Hughes of Brookwood Tree Consulting.
AMPC is thankful for its partnership with the City of Atlanta's Department of Parks and Recreation to provide this enhanced level of tree care which will improve the safety and aesthetics of the tree canopy in this section of the park.
Department of Watershed Update
Memorial Park sewer pipe cleaning
From the Department of Watershed Management (DWM): To date, the contractor on site at the corner of Wesley Drive and Woodley Drive has completed surveying and cleaning 750 linear feet of the 2nd twin barrel sewer relief pipe that runs through the open meadow and has removed 175 cubic yards (wet tonnage) of debris, equating to roughly 76 dry tonnage. DWM estimates that the contractor will complete the current work within the next 1-2 weeks.
