On July 11, 2017 at 6:30 pm, the PATH Foundation will present their trail project to the community which will complete the multi-use path around the Bobby Jones Golf Course. The trail concept was first envisioned by neighbors attending AMPC's three master plan visioning workshops for Atlanta Memorial Park in 2013. Since that time, AMPC presented the trail concept to AMPC's constituents, neighboring civic associations, local garden clubs, the NPU-C, and other organizations for input and comment.

The PATH Foundation is now in the early stages of permitting the trail project with the City of Atlanta. Earlier this week, the trees that will be impacted along the proposed trail were marked with an orange "X". Please click here for project details provided by the PATH Foundation.

AMPC supports an environmentally sensitive and neighborhood friendly approach to the trail’s construction and appreciates the PATH Foundation for presenting and constructing the trail project and the City of Atlanta for funding the project.  We look forward to seeing everyone on July 11 at 6:30 pm!

On the second Thursday of every month at 7:30 am, Park Pride brings together community leaders and park advocates from throughout Atlanta for education, networking and strategy. Representatives from dozens of Friends of the Park Groups, park conservancies and the Parks Department visit a different park to learn more about the community efforts in that park, discuss current park and green space issues and support each other in efforts to improve our parks and our park system. Join us on July 13 to hear the Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy discuss the new playground at Atlanta Memorial Park.

New to Atlanta Memorial Park....

A granite sitting wall with water fountain and pet bowl & water hydrant coming soon!

What better way to enjoy a drink of water and relax in the park than to have a granite sitting wall to rest on while you or your four legged friend stop for a drink of water while visiting the park.  AMPC is thankful to the City of Atlanta, NPU-C, Cherokee Garden Club Community Fund, and Park Pride for providing safe drinking water and a relaxing spot to enjoy this new and improved amenity coming this summer.
