Invasive Species Removal Volunteer Day
Saturday 06.10.2017  I  9 am - 12 pm  I  Atlanta Memorial Park
650 Wesley Drive, Atlanta, GA 30305
Join us as we continue the work that began with the goats in December 2016 and was followed by a volunteer day on Martin Luther King Day.  This volunteer day will focus on continuing to manually remove privet, an aggressive invasive plant that is prevalent in the park due to its ability to outcompete and displace native vegetation. Meet at the Memorial Park playground and please be considerate of our neighbors who live on the park by walking or carpooling to the site.

Thanks to
The Department of Watershed Management
for an informative and open discussion
on the sewer and other watershed issues
in and around Atlanta Memorial Park
AMPC is also thankful to the many neighbors that attended the May 10, 2017 Open House 2.0 to listen to the DWM's update, ask questions, and be a part of the discussion. To view the evening's presentation, click here.

Thanks to
 Boy Scout, Alexander Holmann,
 for choosing Atlanta Memorial Park
for his
Eagle Scout Project!
Alexander Holmann of Troop 74 recruited other scouts, family and friends to clear out an area of Atlanta Memorial Park, near the corner of Howell Mill Road and Peachtree Battle Avenue, taken over by invasive plants.  He coordinated with AMPC and Trees Atlanta to successfully remove privet along with other weeds & vines giving native plants a chance to grow in the park.  If you know Alexander, please thank him for a job well done!
