September 2020 Newsletter

Adapting to the times...
Many Needham residents have been directly affected by the pandemic and it's economic impact.  Fortunately, we are here to help. The numbers are staggering but with the overwhelming support of the community we've been able to keep up.  We are so grateful!

Because of our relationship with local distributors and online systems, we've been able to adapt and keep up with demand.

All food distributions are scheduled by appointment and either picked up in a contact-free drive up or delivered to our customer's home.

We are now OPEN for Thrift Store DONATIONS
All sales in our Thrift Shop help support Council programs and we depend on donations to stock the Shop.  Since the COVID shutdown in March, we have been unable to accept donations and the Shop was closed.

We now have established a new appointment program that makes it possible for us to accept household and clothing donations.

We are thrilled to be able to offer a good bargain and support our mission of "people helping people"

We ask that you follow our new policies carefully so we may keep everyone safe - no exceptions!

1. YOU MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT...sign up at the link below
2. All items donated must be CLEAN and SALEABLE.
(We have no space for items we can
not sell)
3. Please review the guidelines at the link below and
4. print the DONATION FORM to bring with you at your appointment.

Donation Forms and Guidelines are also available on the Sign Up Website.

Thank you to Anton's Cleaners for donating laundry carts which make our new donation process manageable
and safe for our staff and volunteers.

To keep everyone safe, we will not be hosting our traditional Back to School distribution.  We will continue to support income-eligible students by helping them purchase
back-to-school supplies.

We have established a new Back to School Fund and we will purchase gift cards for local vendors, Target and/or Amazon to distribute to all Food Pantry families with students returning to school this fall.

Click here to donate directly to the fund
or send $25 gift cards to us at 570 Hillside Avenue, Needham, MA  02494

Are you , or someone you know, income-eligible and might benefit from this program, but not registered in our Food Pantry?
If so, please contact our office at 781-444-2415.

Ride for Food
It's not to late to join the team!

Due to COVID, we're changing it up! We won't have a one-day group bike ride, but all team members are encouraged to engage in an activity of their own choosing - whenever and wherever you, swim, hike, bike, spin, kayak (or do jumping jacks, planks, etc!) on your own time between today and October 4....just have fun!

The goal is to raise critical funds and awareness to fight food insecurity.
Our neighbors are dealing with major adversity during these unprecedented times. It is more important than ever that we continue to support each other and raise the necessary funds to provide food & grocery items to families in our community.
