Winter Events & News
Maine Cabin Masters comes to West Gardiner
This past fall, KLT renovated two historic cabins at the Trust’s Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary in West Gardiner. We are thrilled to announce that we were selected by and contracted with Maine Cabin Masters for the renovations. Kennebec Land Trust’s Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary and our newly restored cabins will be featured on an episode of Cabin Masters on the DIY Channel, airing on February 25.

When landowner Kendra Wakefield Shaw donated her 115-acre family property on Cobbossee Stream to KLT, the bequest included a small fund for the maintenance of her family’s 100 year old cabins. KLT’s cabins will be available to the general public as rentals, with a discount for KLT members. The cabins will also be used for KLT programming including future workshops with guest artists and writers. Our hope is that income from the cabin rentals will support future stewardship of the Wakefield Wildlife Sanctuary and cabin maintenance.

Please join us to celebrate Kendra's legacy and KLT's new cabins on Monday, February 25 at The Depot Pub in Gardiner. The episode airs at 9 PM. We hope you can be there to see our work featured on television!
