Richard and Robin!

The Creston Valley Wildlife Management Authority, the Board responsible for the management oversight of the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area (CVWMA), has had recent changes in its membership in the past months. The “public position” that had been vacant for several years was filled last March and the Chair of the Board, from the Provincial Government, retired in June and was replaced by a new member, in July.
In March, we welcomed Robin Louie from the Yaqan Nu?kiy (Lower Kootenay Band) who is now filling in the “public member” position on the Board. Robin comes with a wealth of knowledge in business administration and management, hands-on project management and public relation building, and unique local and regional indigenous knowledge.
In June, the Board and staff said farewell to Lyle Saigeon, the Chair of the Authority, who served as Provincial representative for the past eight years. Lyle’s insight, expertise, and steadfast time commitment has greatly strengthened the CVWMA on many fronts. We wish Lyle the best in his next adventures and thank him for everything he did for CVWMA!
Finally, we welcomed Richard Elliott who stepped in as Chair and Provincial representative, in July. Richard is the Senior Executive Director for the Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship – Resource Stewardship Division. Richard has extensive background in government processes and has worked around British Columbia in various positions relating to authorizations, tenures and engineering, and strategic initiatives.
On behalf of the CVWMA staff, we are thrilled to have Robin and Richard join the Authority and are looking forward to working with you in the coming months and years. Your combined expertise, knowledge, and renewed perspectives will be invaluable to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead, and essential in advancing CVWMA’s mandate.
