Dear Uplift Community,
It is a bittersweet moment to leave Uplift after almost ten years. Cleaning out my office, I found notes from former employees and funders as well as the notebook with notes from my first day on the job on February 14, 2013. The memories came flooding back. Looking back on my time here, I am so grateful for the talented team members and dedicated supporters of Uplift who worked alongside me to build the organization that Uplift is today. Uplift Center for Grieving Children is an incredible organization that is making a transformative difference in the lives of families and children in the City of Philadelphia. I am proud of the work we have done thus far, and I cannot wait to see what Uplift will continue to do.
As I have said many times, this job was more than a job to me. It was a labor of love in honor of my mother’s life, which ended when I was 15. It gave me an opportunity to make meaning out of her death. I feel like I have accomplished what I set out to do at Uplift, and I am so thankful that the Board of Directors took a chance on me. I am looking forward to taking some time to rest, spend time with my family, and plan for my next endeavors. I am also looking forward to watching Uplift Center for Grieving Children continue to flourish and make a tangible difference in young lives. Thank you for your support as Uplift moves forward under new leadership.
With Gratitude,
 Darcy Walker Krause

 | Aaji's is a family-run food startup dedicated to Coastal Indian cuisine. Their flagship tomato lonsa, a spicy, sweet, and savory condiment, is available locally in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Inspired by their Aajis' (grandmothers') recipes, the Korde family views food as an expression of love, and is committed to sharing that love through the food they serve and the work they do. During the month of August, Aaji's will donate $1 for each container of tomato lonsa sold to Uplift. Find Aaji's at a store and farmer's market near you by visiting their website.
