QTYS Team Leads Training for Caregivers Supporting Grieving LGBTQ+ Youth
Uplift's Queer and Trans Youth Services (QTYS) clinicians, Sam Middleton, MS and CJ Roseberry, MSW lead a training for caregivers supporting youth in the LGBTQ+ community who are grieving the loss of a loved one, adding a a valuable resource as we round out Pride Month.
For children who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or questioning, their identities can affect their grief experiences after a significant person dies. Whether the deceased person fully accepted a child's identities, was unaccepting, or died before a child could fully come out can impact how LGBTQ+ youth process their grief.
In partnership with PASH, a program of the School District of Philadelphia, Sam and CJ created a free training for caregivers looking to support youth, including advice on how to care for, guide, and support your child.
