125 Years of Welcare
It was wonderful to see so many supporters at our uplifting 125th Anniversary Service of Thanksgiving at Southwark Cathedral on 15th June.

It was especially pleasing that so many young people participated, and very special thanks must go to Mirabelle who enthralled everyone with her interpretative rap dance of the personal journey of faith which allows us to thrive.
The service was built around the themes of our CapeAbility campaign, targeted at schools and junior churches to increase awareness and support for our work.

CapeAbility uses the metaphor of superheroes (hence the Cape in CapeAbility) to encourage children to thrive, care and inspire others. If you know a school or junior church that could take part in 2020, please encourage them to register their interest here

Our anniversary also gave us a chance to capture a collection of stories illustrating how our work has evolved to meet society's changing needs.

We are indebted to Jo Josh for volunteering her time curating, interviewing and drafting the narrative for our new booklet Welcare 1894-2019, and also to Rachel Thornhill who took some beautiful new photographs to use in this publication and on our website.
