Dear Friends of The Antioch Partners (TAP),
Thanksgiving greetings to you all! One thing I'm grateful for is each of you...the community of churches and individuals that surround TAP. I pray you will continue to experience the joy that comes from participating in God's global purpose in Christ.
As many of you know, TAP was launched in the summer of 2007 and from day one we have been committed to a flat, lean organizational structure. This reflects our commitment to stewardship and our dedication to maximizing Kingdom resources. You see this lived out in every aspect of TAP’s operations, including our use of donated office space, our commitment to outsourcing and collaboration, our passion for using technology well, our minimum expenditure on fundraising (only 5% of our program expenses go for fundraising), our utilization of volunteers, etc.
Fundraiser 2019
TAP hosts one major fundraising dinner each year and this year we gathered on Oct 3 in Houston at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church (thank you, MDPC!). Thanks to our wonderful supporters, we exceeded our financial goal and raised over $111,000. We anticipate more donations to come in before the end of the year. Praise God! We are thankful for all those who gave generously and volunteered (approximately 50 volunteers participated this year!).
We had a great time learning what God is doing in Southeast Asia, and we were blessed to have TAP Partner, Austin House, as our keynote speaker. Austin and his family serve in Myanmar and God is using them in beautiful ways to demonstrate and proclaim God's love in Christ. Click here to learn about the Houses. In terms of the dinner, check out this video to get a taste of what the dinner was like.
Support TAP on #GivingTuesday, December 3rd
Another way you can support TAP this year is in conjunction with #GivingTuesday (this will be our first year to participate!). #GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Your contributions to TAP on Dec 3, 2019 will enable TAP to continue serving and supporting those called to long-term, cross-cultural, incarnational engagement so they thrive in their ministry contexts and maximize their Kingdom impact. I invite you to help us reach our GivingTuesday goal of $10,000!
2020 TAP Vision Trip: Central Asia
Every other year TAP coordinates a vision trip to visit a TAP Partner and learn about what God is doing in the world. Our next vision trip will be May 12 – 21, 2020 to Central Asia along the historic Silk Road. This is a Muslim-majority country and God is at work in remarkable ways among the peoples of this beautiful land. Sean and Bethany Walker will be the trip leaders. Sean is TAP’s Operations Coordinator and he and Bethany (along with their two wonderful kids!) served for many years in Central Asia, before relocating to Houston in 2017 to join the TAP support staff team. If God leads you to explore this, click here for more information or contact Hope Whitney soon!
Blessings to you all this Thanksgiving,
Andrew Adair
