We must encourage young Catholics
Article Image
Like everyone who loves the Church, we at RENEW are concerned about the declining number of young people who attend Mass or engage in the life of the Church in any other way. This is a matter that requires all of us to focus our attention on the children, adolescents, and young adults whom we can influence. And there is hope.

This summer, we at RENEW have been blessed by the presence of four interns, vibrant young Catholic women whose faith can be an example to their peers. We must encourage young Catholics like them to lead. To read my blog post, click HERE.

Summer interns bring a fresh perspective to RENEW

Summer interns at RENEW included, from left, Jennifer Guerriero, Anne Howath, Samantha Howath, and (not pictured) Natalie Else. As part of their experience, these three wrote about finding holiness in the world at large. They found it in the Canyon of Heroes. You can read about them and their experiences by clicking HERE.

How to engage young Catholics? Start by listening to them

Article Image The next generation of Catholic adults are on the minds of many people concerned about the future of the Church. Sterling Hardaway, a former member of the RENEW staff and an advisor on IT matters, took a minute during a recent visit to our offices to offer some advice about touching the hearts of young people.

Healing Our Church: Help us meet the challenge

Healing Our Church, a new small-group program from RENEW, helps Catholic adults express their feelings about the sexual-abuse crisis in the Church, process those feelings, and claim their rightful place in the healing and renewal of the Church. The program was introduced in the Diocese of Allentown, where it was well received in 88 percent of the parishes, and it will soon be underway in the Archdiocese of Newark and the Diocese of Grand Rapids.

The RASKOB Foundation has recognized the importance of our work with a $30,000 challenge grant in support of Healing Our Church.  Donations made for this program will be matched dollar for dollar. Please help us make the most of this opportunity so that we can bring this program to many more diocese and parishes. You can double the impact of any donation you make right now.  To support Healing Our Church, click HERE.
