LEVÁNTATE makes its mark in the Dominican Republic
LEVÁNTATE Unamanos en Cristo, the Spanish-language version of ARISE Together in Christ, is having an impact in the Dominican Republic where faith-sharing groups began meeting in the fall of 2016.
RENEW launched LEVÁNTATE in collaboration with the Sister Parish Ministry, a partnership of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Ponte Vedra, Florida, and the parishes of Domingo Savio and San Antonio de Guerra, which serve profoundly poor people in the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo. In the photo at right, José Manuel Castillo, co-coordinator at San Antonio De Padua parish, captures some of his compatriots in a selfie.
RENEW was introduced to the ministry by Bob Hart, a co-founder.
More than 36 small communities, with members from two parishes and five mission churches, are meeting in the Caribbean republic.
