Goings On...

November will be a month of team work on many levels -  and a great opportunity to express our gratitude for how wonderful El Grupo riders, families and volunteers are on many levels. We have more people involved in making El Grupo what it is today than ever before, and that is certainly something to be thankful for.

The Arizona High School MTB League will conclude this coming weekend (Nov. 10th) with Race #4. Both El Grupo teams have had an awesome showing from all riders, and we should all be proud of the efforts we have put forth. In this last race, we have the chance to place both teams in the top three teams in the state! May we all race proud and let our smiles lead the way.

There is always more to learn in life, always. El Grupo is supporting your Head Coach Ignacio to take the USA Cycling Coach Level 2 Clinic from November 8-10 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He is committed to being the best coach he can be, and looks forward to learning more and sharing it all with you.

Fundraising is ongoing for El Grupo - and some big efforts will happen at the end of the year. First, the Bike Swap Meet (Nov. 16th) will require lots of help in preparing, baking, parking bikes and selling baked goods and clothing. More on that below. Also, for the first time, El Grupo will be sending out a donor letter for end of the year fundraising. We will need help in preparing materials, labeling envelopes, and thanking donors - all of those opportunities will be emailed out soon.

And finally, 2014 JERSEY orders will need to happen before November 15th. Expect to receive an email later today with your login to our team website for Voler. You will be open to ordering and purchasing additional items (i.e. skinsuit, vests, jackets, booties!). The more folks order, the better pricing we all get. These will be arriving just after the new year, so maybe they can make good holiday gifts?!
Events Upcoming...

HS MTB #4: We will leave on Saturday, Nov. 9th as we have for all others to go pre-ride the course, camp out, and be ready for a great race on Sunday. With Ignacio out of town, we would love continued and more help from parents (who have been awesome thus far!) to make it all happen. Please let us know ASAP if you are able to go and help out. Thanks!

GABA Bike Swap Meet: November 16th
As tradition goes, El Grupo will be running bike parking for all attendees, selling our homemade baked goods and donated clothing/items that don't work for El Grupo, and spreading the word about who El Grupo is out at the Swap Meet. Look for a doodle poll sign up soon for volunteer positions for youth and adults - and be ready to start baking!!

Pre- El Tour Dinner: Thursday, November 21st, 6pm
Our annual potluck dinner to celebrate teamwork and get ready for El Tour will again be on the Thursday prior so as to make sure everyone gets a good night sleep on Friday. Leo and Cara's parents have generously offered their backyard again, and expect to sign up soon for what you can contribute to the meal and fun celebration.

El Tour: Saturday, November 23rd
El Grupo will support three teams this year for the first time! We have solid teams for the 60, 85 and 111 mile events, and look to have lots of fun with the rides. El Tour is not a race, at least not how we see it. It is a community event that we get to enjoy riding with thousands of others. Help will be needed with transportation and support out on the course...more on that later in the month.

Cyclocross after Thanksgiving: December 1st
We will have some good rest after El Tour and be ready to burn some turkey off. This cyclocross race is in Tucson, and will be a fun opportunity to check it out for the first time for some, and just have fun with it for the rest. This will be the only one in town that we get to do this year so come on out - best cycle spectating around!
Tuition Reminder...

You can make payments through our Donate button on the website and set up recurring payments. That is the easiest way to not forget each month - and it is secure. Please try to make your monthly contribution by the 15th of the month. Thank you!
