Goings On...
Congratulations to all on wrapping up an amazing road race season for 2013 with great efforts and results in State Championship races. We gained 4 more state champ titles (thanks to Ana and Chloe!) and 14 podium spots in 3 champ races!! That is incredible - way to go team!!
The Arizona High School MTB League is off to a great start - let's go for the team win! We have two chances and both are clearly strong. You don't have to imagine how much we are dominating the scene because we are - El Grupo as a whole could be winning by nearly double the 1st place team points if we were allowed to race all as a team. Oh, well. Let the constructive inner team challenges begin. And let's all continue to have fun and tear it up out on the trails!
October Bike Camp is right around the corner (Oct. 7-11)- those not in school will be welcome to join. Some of you will be working. Practices will continue as usual for everyone in the afternoons.
And finally, 2014 JERSEY orders and sizing will be happening very soon. Starting with this coming weekend for sizing. Make sure you are reading the blog to not miss out!
Events Upcoming...
October 5th - Jr El Tour Skills Clinic. Time is 10:15-11:15.  Brandi Fenton Park area. We need a few of you to help lead this "skills in the park" session with these younger, less experienced riders It is a great opportunity to build and improve upon your leadership skills through peer mentoring. And you get a burrito out of it afterwards, too!
October 12th-13th - MTB Race #2 @ McDowell Mtn Park Same location, but different course. We will be gauging interest on going up Saturday to camp again vs. going up EARLY Sunday morning. Stay tuned to your email for a poll getting your preference later this week.
October 21st (Monday) U of A Cycling Club Presentation 5pm During Academic Support Hours there will be a one hour Q & A with president of U of A Cycling club about collegiate cycling in our town, what is takes and what you get out of it. All ages welcome!
October 26-27 - MTB Race #3 @ Prescott This will definitely be an all weekend event with camping. Families and all riders not in HS welcome and encouraged to join us. Expect cooler temps, trees, and weird green stuff on the ground (maybe!).
