Empowering Youth Through Bicycles
Goings On...

Thanks to everyone for an absolutely incredible March! Here we are on to April when we focus more on the future: raising funds for El Grupo so we all get to do amazing things and preparing for some big goal events for all at the end of the month and into May (and the summer!)

Speaking of Summer...here are the latest and final plans/dates.
  • Summer Bike Camp dates: June 2-6, June 9-13, July 21-25. We will need many of you age 14 and older to work (and get paid!) for these camps. All younger riders will be welcome to volunteer work.
  • USA Cycling Road Selection Camp (A team 17-18 boys only) in Flagstaff: June 8-13
  • USA Cycling Talent ID Camp (A team optional) in Flagstaff: June 15-20
  • Durango/Ft Lewis MTB Camp (yeah! we figured out how to make this work!): June 15-22
PLEASE plan on attending the ALL TEAM MEETING this coming Saturday, April 5th at 11am following morning practices (and breakfast at the house for all riders/coaches) at the clubhouse to discuss more specifics, including financial expectations. The team meeting will cover needs for upcoming fundraising events, logistics for goal events (i.e. Whiskey, Gila, Luna Lake), and new board policies for supporting you all to participate in these amazing summer opportunities. Bring your questions and your calendars.

El Grupo's Bicycle Scavenger Hunt - April 12th EVERYONE is expected to participate in some way! You can sign up online to participate (and avoid the $10 late fee day of). This is one of the major fundraising events that El Grupo does all year, and its success directly means more amazing things that El Grupo (and you!) get to do.

GABA Bike Swap Meet: Sun. April 13th Baked goods, used clothing (already organized by you!), and bike valet parking - same as usual. We will need all the help we can get at this fun hangout. Sign ups for baking and working shifts will be made available next week.
