Calendar of Giving -- March 2015

Our monthly Calendar of Giving offers supporters an easy opportunity to get involved. The items featured are difficult to find in Cambodia or too expensive for our teachers and students to obtain. The Calendar of Giving is open to supporters worldwide, and your collection campaign can be big or small. Remember, every donation counts!

March Collection:
Sports Equipment

Physical activity is an important component of a school curriculum for all children--no matter where they may live. CFC students participate in physical education activities during the school day, and many compete on sports teams at the junior high and high school level. Donations of select sports equipment items are greatly appreciated.

What types of sports equipment are needed?
Balls (Soccer balls, basketballs, and volleyballs only.)
Please send all balls deflated to help with transport.
Please do not send sport team uniforms, sport shoes or cleats.

Caring from afar....
No matter where you live in the world, you can join in the spirit of giving with our Calendar of Giving without having to collect physical items or worry about international shipping costs. With your donation, CFC staff will be able to purchase the items directly in Siem Reap. By donating on-line, your gift benefits Cambodia twice - once by directly helping kids and once by benefiting the local economy!

To make a monetary donation to our March Calendar of Giving, please click here. CFC staff will purchase appropriate sports equipment in Siem Reap. A contribution of USD$10 will be directed towards the purchase of a much needed piece of sports equipment on your behalf (for example - a basketball, soccerball, etc.).

I want to organize a campaign.
How do I get started?
  • Register your campaign by contacting us via email at volunteers@caringforcambodia.org.
  • Choose your target group and obtain permission if necessary.
  • Set a start and end date for donations to be collected.
  • Decide where donations will be collected and arrange for appropriate receptacles.
  • Publicize your campaign.
  • Take photos of your group and email them to CFC. We will highlight your efforts in our newsletters and on our facebook page and website.

Who can collect these items?
  • Schools, scout troops, families, church groups, book clubs, teams, offices, neighborhood gatherings, etc.
What do I do after I have collected the items?
  • Send us an email at volunteers@caringforcambodia.org and include your contact details,  the number of items you collected and a photograph.
  • If you live in Singapore, our Goods Donations Coordinator will contact you to arrange for pick-up/delivery options.
  • If you are mailing the items to Singapore, please box the items in sturdy shipping containers and send to:

What will this campaign cost me?
  • Flyer or poster printing should you chose to advertise.
  • Postage to Singapore. Consider collecting small donations to help defray the cost of shipping the items to Singapore. Once received in Singapore, we will arrange delivery to Siem Reap.
