Shout Out to Miller Roofing!

NSLCHFH is grateful to Miller Roofing for providing special pricing last year so that we could replace the roof on Abbie Moberg's new home in Hibbing!  With the pandemic and inability to engage our usual number of volunteers, these partnerships with our business community have been critical to our organization's success.  THANK YOU!

Thrivent and Mesabi Range College Building Homes and Hope in Gilbert
Johnson/Victor Family is Working Hard, Too!

NSLCHFH is so grateful for our ongoing partnerships both with Thrivent, the major funder for the Johnson/Victor home in Gilbert, and Mesabi Range College (MRC), whose carpentery class is busy finishing this home.  Of course, the Johnson/Victor family has been doing a LOT of work as well, keeping the site clean and organized, painting walls and trim and doing anything else they are asked as they help build the affordable home they will buy.

As the students at MRC, under the direction of Leo Lucas, move toward the finishing touches on the Johnson/Victor home, they can also proudly look next door at our second Gilbert home.  The Paternoster family is eager to start the work!  Their home's major funder is also Thrivent, so that great partnership continues.  Although MRC will not be as involved in this home, they are the reason the foundation, a critical component of the home due to its in-slab heat, is done and ready for framing.

We will be looking for help this summer!  As we are able to gather safely together, consider helping us build or providing a lunch to our builders.  Maybe better yet, gather again with that group of friends you have been Zooming with and have a great day of fun TOGETHER building a home while we strengthen our Iron Range!  Call 218-750-2611 or email Susan at susan@nslchfh.org for more information.
Look for our Spring Letter in Your Mail Soon!
Thanks to Our Friends at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and Bridges to Independence

Thanks to our great and ongoing partnership with the team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and our new partnership with Bridges to Learning our spring letter will be ready to wing its way to many area mailboxes next week, including yours!

We will never be able to thank our Iron Range communities enough for their support over these many years, but particularly this last, challenging one.  With your support we have been able to continue helping our neighbors in need of affordable housing.  The excitement is building. Look for great updates coming soon.  As you know, we cannot do this work without our partnerships with local governments, businesses, churches, schools, clubs and organizations but, most importantly, without the many, many individuals who share our vision of a world where we all have a decent place to live.

So, please accept our gratitude for your great and ongoing support!  And look for the letter from us in your mailbox, too.
