1st Annual Virtual Walk and Roll for Ataxia!
In celebration of
International Ataxia Awareness Day
Hello, my name is Lynda Howell, I’m a member of NAF and your Virtual Walk n’ Roll Tour Guide. Please join us in some fun and camaraderie as we raise awareness and funds together in support of Ataxia Research and important programs. Our goals are high, and we need your participation! Just click on the link below to join us on our “Virtual Walk n’ Roll” as we cross the Continent. We will be touring our Research Centers across the land, and would like to stop in and visit you too!
Our Honorary Leader, Earl McLaughlin and his faithful companion Pip will be meeting us in San Diego, California as we start our trek. We will be “Virtually” flying you all into San Diego, the more the merrier, and best of all, your trip will all be FREE! That’s right, no costly air fair, no standing in lines at the airport, no lengthy check-in process. Just click on the Register link under Help Our Cause, and you’re in, simple as that!
Now, here’s what we want you to do… Set your personal goals, get your own local support group of family, friends, neighbors, and keep track of your miles. We would like you to aim for a real live donation, such as $1.00 per mile or a set donation. You can either contribute this yourself, or secure sponsors that will contribute with you. Then, log on to your very own, free, NAF provided personal web site and up-date your miles and donations regularly so we can chart our progress. Your miles and mine will all be added together as we “Virtually” leave San Diego’s airport and head off across the country to visit our Researchers and Members everywhere!
If you would like our fellow band of fund raisers to “Virtually” visit you in your city, just drop me an e-mail at Lynda Howell MyLyndaHowell@yahoo.com and we can add you to our itinerary. Keep in mind, you can then “Virtually” put us up for the night at your Palace, Chalet, Tree House, etc. If there is a point of interest in your area, please let me know that too, as we would love to have you “Virtually” tour us around for the day.
Spread the word, our journey starts NOW. You can meet up with us at any point along the way unitil Sptember 25th. All Walk n’ Roll miles and contributions will be counted up and announced on September 25th, International Ataxia Awareness Day. How far can we travel? How much can we raise for NAF? Our goal is $75,000 U.S. dollars which equates to 75,000 miles, and we need your support, so LET'S GET WALKING N’ ROLLING!
