Volunteers for Medical Outreach (VMO)

Volunteers for Medical Outreach (VMO) was established in 2008 by a group of highly dedicated UC Berkeley students to provide free basic medical care in developing countries.  In the past, our members have assisted local doctors in providing services to the rural populations of Vietnam through fundraising and donations collected by our student members during the academic year.  Recently, VMO members have put on a VMO Benefit Concert, several Vietnamese sandwich sales, and a Kaplan MCAT course auction to raise funds.  The fundraising and donations are then used to buy medicines and medical supplies needed to run the mobile clinics, hepatitis B vaccination clinics, and corrective surgery programs.

To achieve our goal of $10,000, we need YOUR help.

By donating to VMO, you are helping us to stand by our motto in which "all people--regardless of their background--should have access to affordable health care."

The following is a list of things we are looking to provide patients through your monetary donation:

Hepatitis B Vaccinations (3 series shot) --> $25/child

Corrective surgeries --> $200

Emergency kits --> $3/each

Mobile Clinics --> $1000/each

We know that in these tough times of economic downturn, it may be difficult to donate, however, we deeply appreciate any material or monetary amount you can contribute to this cause.  Thank you for your consideration, and we hope you take pride in your involvement with improving conditions for all of humanity.
